Kinston is located in Lenoir County, North Carolina, approximately 25 miles southwest of Greenville and 80 miles southeast of the city of Raleigh. Originally inhabited by members of the Neusiok Indian tribe, the area was settled in the mid-1700s by English colonists, who named the town Kingston in honor of newly crowned King George III. The town’s name was later changed to Kinston by early Pioneers to show their denegation of English royalty. Today the city of Kinston is home to a population of more than 20,000 residents, who enjoy the area’s beautiful seasonal weather and the many amenities of this award winning All-American city!
